Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default 1,200 unread pages, yet it passed.

Can any of you Obamanites explain why the passing of the stinkulus package is not blind following? 1,200 pages not read, yet they voted onit. This scares the hell out of me. I don't care what party it is, the notion of passing bills without reading them is just plain scary.

I really get the feeling that nobody really knows if anything will work, cus the morons up here are doing the same crap...clueless...unless it is a government agency or business, why is government sticking their noses into the market place again this way? The whole thing just seems wrong...

Same exact way Bush shoved the Patriot Act up our butts. I don't remember all this complaining about that one not being read before it was voted in... even though it directly violates 6 of the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. You remember those? What used to be our Bill of Rights?

Arthur P, forgive me for my lack of knowledge on congress and such but, Are you saying the Democrats have a history of passing things blindly if it serves a political agenda and not necessarily what is good for the people?

Patriot Act was passed by a Republican majority Congress so it's not primarily Democrats. THEY NEVER read bills that size! NONE of 'em. If anyone reads them at all, it's their aides. The lawmakers themselves read the bill summary, counting on their aides to mention any red flags in the legislation. I guess they're too busy hobnobbing with lobbyists and scrounging around for campaign contributors to be bothered with such mundane chores as reading bills. Both sides of the aisle are guilty of it.

ok thanks for the clarification on that. It would seem our Parliament has the same issues.

Is that no-read issue a sign that maybe there is too much government?

And it was just as wrong. By the way, Bush is gone Obama is our president now, campaign is over. Obama said there was going to be change in the way government is done. So by your admition, Obama is just doing things the same way Bush did it. Nice.[:'(]

Sad that you are trying to justify evil with evil. I guess the Obamanites really do not want change, unless it serves their purpose.[:@]

You blame Obama too easily and too quickly. Reid and Pelosi were controlling the way the bill went through Congress, not the President. Those two didn't promise diddly squat. Just like Obama promised he'd try for bi-partisanship, but Boehner and McConnell didn't promise a flippin' thing. So, we get no transparency, no bi-partisanship. The President can only tell Congress what he wants. It's up to the leadership to decide whether or not they go along with it.

Which causes me to need to backtrack a little about Bush, doesn't it. [&o] IT WAS CHENEY! [8D]

So you are saying Obama has no balls. He has the power of veto. He can kill it and do it agian. The stock market sure is not responding to this ram roded bill.
