Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama Expansion of Bush policy

Why no discussion from our Leftist friends about the fact that Obama is greatly expanding Bush's office on faith-based initiatives? I thought you guys were opposed to Bush's venture into faith-based projects due to the "separation of church and state"... I guess it's only because the wrong guy was in charge???

Think that I noted this before, but African American communities have benefited greatly from the whole faith-based initiatives program at the same time that they hotly opposed pretty much everything else that he did. So, it is not surprising that Obama would want to continue such programs. And it is no surprise that the same folks on the left who attacked the program under Bush, will grin and bear it as long as Obama is running the show.

I fully beleave in the separation of church and state, you only need to look at the middle east to see the importance of it. I think Obama should tread lightly in this area.

I guess it's just like the whole "socialism" thing. "It's never worked before, but, that's only because the right person hasn't been in charge..."

Some of this stuff pretty much consists of awarding grants to different church groups to help them provide social services. So, if some Baptist church gets $50K from the feds to help fund a halfway house for recovering drug addicts, I dont see it as infringing on the whole church and state thing, as long as other denominations have their shot at a piece of the pie too. Its just strange though how peoples perspective on the topic can change in conjunction with a change of Presidents.
