I saw this and had to laugh. This is no joke. I contacted my state senator to not support this bill. What's next? A bill making baseball bats illegal?[/align][/align][/align][/align]SB126[/align]

[/align]Description: Prohibits sale of pocket knives. Defines pocket knife.[/align]
[/align]THE SENATE S.B. NO. 126[/align]
[/align]TWENTY-FIFTH LEGISLATURE, 2009[/align]
[/align]STATE OF HAWAIIA BILL FOR AN ACTRELATING TO DANGEROUS WEAPONS.[/align]
[/align]BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:[/align]
[/align]SECTION 1. Chapter 134, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new[/align]section to part III to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:[/align]
[/align]"134- Pocket knives; sale prohibited; penalty. Any person who knowinglymanufactures, sells, transfers, possesses, or transports a pocket knife inthe State shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.[/align]
[/align]As used in this section:[/align]
[/align]"Pocket knife" means a knife with a blade that folds into the handle andwhich is suitable for carrying in the pocket."[/align]
[/align]SECTION 2. Upon the effective date of this Act, no person shall import ormanufacture pocket knives into the State for the purpose of selling ordistributing pocket knives.[/align]
[/align]SECTION 3. New statutory material is underscored.[/align]
[/align]SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2010.[/align]

Just a guess here, but, I'd bet the bill's sponsor is a Democrat...


EDIT: Bill introduced by Les Ihara, a Democrat. A Moron.

This will never fly. I doubt it will even make it off the senate floor....

FYI, I will continue to carry my pocket knife everywhere I go, 24/7 (except if I have to fly - that is...)
This old Schrade 787 pocket knife was my fathers, and HE carried it in his pocket all the time.
NOBODY (except the airlines)had better tellme that I can't carry it!!!! [:@]

This pocket knife was in my father's pants pocket on his last fateful trip to the hospital.
My mother handed it to me and said, "He wantedyou to have this".

Only in Hawii. Often seems like everything else is already regulated to some degree over there.
