Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 1, the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act. I appreciate your comments.

WithMichigan's unemployment rate over 10 percent, it is clear we must take action now to invest in our economy and our future.As you may know, Congress is working with the Obama Administration on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan to create and save three to four million jobs nationwide, jumpstart our economy, and transform it for the 21st century.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is a responsible mix of tax cuts and core investments that will create or save up to 158,000 jobs inMichigan by 2010, reducing unemployment by 2.5 percent. The Act will invest $1.4 billion inMichigan schools, $1.2 billion inMichigan infrastructure, $200 million for training and unemployment services, over $2 billion in unemployment benefits, $2.2 billion in Medicaid funding, and over $5 billion in tax credits forMichigan workers.

While the legislation is not perfect, it's a good place to start. Our economy is ravaged by eight years of mismanagement and decades of Republican-led deregulation.By investing in our kids' education and their schools, advancing our medical care, deploying broadband technology and rebuilding our aging bridges and roads, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will help put millions of Americans back to work. Thiswill not solve our economic crisis overnight,butit will provide federal funding and jobs toMichigan at a time when we need it most.

I am pleased to report the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed in the House on January 28, 2009, with a vote of 244 to 188. Unfortunately, none of my Republican counterparts were courageous enough to join our President in what he wanted to be a bipartisan effort to jumpstart our economy. I hope that as we move forward on this plan and on future legislative endevours, including health care reform and energy independence, we can put our partisan differences aside and work for the American people.

What the heck is this? A billion dollars for what? How many Jobs is this going to create?

What the heck is this? 650,000,000 to help a country who watches to much TV, so they can watch TV. Being the converter boxes are mostly made in China, it creates ZERO Jobs here in the USA.

Sir I still have more to read, but as you can see I am not your "œnormal"� citizen. I read the bills and NEVER listen to anything out of a Politicians mouth. If you truly love this country like you claim you would:

1. Introduce a Bill for Term Limits for Congress
2. Introduce a Bill for a Balance Budget Amendment
3. Introduce a Bill to remove the Congress and Government petition plans, and have Government workers(and congress) use social security like the rest of us. If you guys had to do so, I bet it would get fixed it.
4. Revoke the raise you just gave yourself, guess what I am not getting one for 14 months here at work. It"™s time you guys felt a little pain.
5. Would go on medicare and get rid of your health plan. If medicare is good enough for the citizens of USA, why not you?

I am tired of the "œblame game"� this is YOUR fault also. It"™s time to man up and take the blame. If you cannot let someone else run who is going to help MI, because you are not getting the job done, and have not for a very long time.

We have lost more Jobs in SE MI than some states. I ask again, what are you doing?

You know it's about the numbers of objections to what they are doing that will allow us to stop this madness. Go back to the imigration bill. We the people stopped it through our constant objections and voicing our opinions.
