Open carry is also legal in Michigan. The state constitution covers the right of a citizen to "bear arms in defense of himself and the state." But when you take the class for a CPL you are warned that if you carry openly, the police will arrest you for "brandishing" a weapon.
The police are our greatest enemy when it comes to our Second Amendment rights.
(I'm not old enough for a CPL but I took the class just for the learning experience. You can take the class at any age.)
