How in the hell does anything get done

I have spent the last couple of hours looking through the list of bills that have been introduced thus far this year. It is absolutely mind boggling and will down right just piss you off. Is there any wonder why this country can't get a damn thingaccomplished?


One small example.

Urging the President to authorize the return to the people of the
Philippines of two church bells that were taken by the United States
Army in 1901 from the town of Balangiga on the island of Samar,
Philippines, and are currently displayed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base,
Wyoming.

Who the hell comes up with this crap and why the hell are we paying them a salary?

Because most of those bills are put in as riders on other bills and most of our elected officials dont even read the bills or what is in them. Truthfully I think there should be no riders on any bills. If a bill cannot stand on its own merit then it shouldnt even be there.

Thousands of bills are introduced inevery session of congress. Most of them go nowhere.

I think it's a good thing that Congressmen listen to their constituents. On the other hand, so many of said constituents havelittle problem wasting the rest of the nation's time and money.
