Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

How much you want to bet their job cuts will be at their American plants instead of their factories at home?

How much do you want to bet they go ahead with building their new plant in Mississippi?

As long as unions aren't involved, it will likely beprofitable!

Now why would they do that? You say corporate taxes are what's driving our manufacturing overseas, so why would a foreign manufacturer continue building a plant with those 'horrendous' taxes during such downturn in business?

Fer cryin' out loud, would you at least TRY to be consistent with your arguments?

I thought Mississippi is in the same country as California, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts with the same 'onerous' corporate income tax rates he's been all weepy eyed about. I coulda sworn I drove through the state twice last week on my trip to visit my son before he was deployed to Korea. Even spent the night in some town called Vicksburg, right next to a river I thought was named Mississippi.

Must have been mistaken.[8D]

There are two things that drive jobs over seas, taxes (federal, state, local and others) and the cost of labor. There is another factor, though, and that is shipping the product. You need to think about how shipping effects profit and balance that against the type of industries that move over seas, and those that actually set up shop here.

As long as people buy their cars GM was very profitble with Unions and so was Ford

The issue is and will be sales.

Hey old man, where am I arguing? I believe I was trying to place a bet with you. Perhaps, you need another subsidy via the tax payer to buy a new set of reading glasses.
