Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Iraqi elections

Provincial elections there just went pretty smooth with a 50 percent plus voter turnout and minimal violence. Doesnt seem to be getting much play in the news.

I wondered about that too. The voting process is working but it is bringing about the change needed within?

Turnout was a lot lower than last time, which is bad. The moderates did pretty well at the polls, but there is a growing segment of the Iraqi population that does notrecognize the legitimacy of the government.

I heard that they were expecting about a 70 percent turnout. Fell pretty short.

Depends on who you listen to. Some sources say that the turnout wassomewhat low, but in the ballpark with expectations. Others are claiming that it was a horribly low turnout. So, it is probably somewhere in the middle of those two scenarios. I just know that the numbers that I saw would look pretty good in terms of turnout for your typical American elections, only without the threat of getting blown up on the way to the polls.

Its because things went well. Also, Bush is out of office. CNN has no one to pin the little violence that occured, on.

Yep, just makes you want to go back a couple years and dredge up all those posts claiming that all was lost in Iraq and it would only end in chaos.

It was until Bush listento someone What sucks is this plan could have been put in place the day we kicked out Saddam. Think of the lives that could have been saved. Bush was warned many times and did not listen. His arrogance cost many their lives, by far his number 1 failure as President IMO.

A great book http://www.amazon.com/Baghdad-Sunrise-Brigade-Commanders-Military/dp/030014069X

Lance he teaches at tOSU these days. I heard him speak once. He also was on the team that came up with the current plan in Iraq(AKA the surge).

Just a great soldier and American IMO.

Yellow bikinis.....uh, where was I at, oh yellow, no bush, yeah Bush. Well, I there have been no shortages of American lives lost throughout history because of the arrogance of their leaders. But, at leastBush finally got around to listening, and things are going well, at least compared to the sky is falling scenarios that were getting thrown around here a while back. I just find it funny that some clown throws a shoe at Bush and it gets non-stop discussion for days, but a successful election does not even seem to merit a mention.
