Looks like Obama is setting as high an ethical standard as Bill Clinton.

Why can't he just pull the friggin' plug on these appointments when they turn out to have sleeze adhering to them? Why can't he just couch this in a statement such as "While this action does not constitute a representation that any wrong doing occured, we want to have a team that is beyond reproach." It would be easy. Surely there are enough Democrats who do not have sleeze attaching to them to fill a cabinet.

Why the hell can't they find people to fill these jobs that are really qualified and are not crooked? There has to be good people out there. I am sick of the questionable appointees but with osama's list of past friends, I guess we should expect he would pick people of his caliber. Very Low caliber that is.

I do not know enough about these people to judge them. All I'm saying is, for the sake of harmony and cooperation, appoint and pick people that pass the smell test. Don't ask people to "trust you" and to give these folks the benefit of the doubt. Why not appoint people who do not even manifest the appearance of impropriety? Now, we aren't talking about a very high threshold here . . . we are just talking about people NOT OWING BACK TAXES!!!!!! It isn't too damn complicated. I don't owe any back taxes. Do you owe back taxes? Why is it Tom Daschele gets marked out for an appointed office and all of a sudden he discovers he owes back taxes? Ditto with the Treasury Secretary? Why is it that now their tax accumen suddenly becomes higher quality than it was before?

Again, don't make any judgments about these folks, just pass them by and find another candidate who doesn't have these blemishes. Its simple.
