Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Can you say "a trillion" ?

With the economy deteriorating rapidly, lawmakers are preparing for a new request from President Obama for another massive round of spending, which could send the total bailout price soaring toward $1 trillion, the Washington Post reported.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2009/01/24/report-obama-ask-additional-bailout-funds/100days/

Lawmakers agreed last week to allow President Obama access to the second half of the bailout package. But officials say the government may need to expand their response to the crisis, and hundreds of billions more may be needed.

[X(]when will it end?

Yep, the bailout continues unabated. Never mind that the bailout of the super banks is not working: They refuse to lend money.

If I gave you 1 trillion in dollar bills and told you to hand it out at a rate of $1/sec. It would take you well over 31,000 years before you were done.[:@]

The best thing about all this BS. The CBO, controled by dems, admits this will do nothing to stimulate the economy. Did you know there is only 30 billion in roads and bridge construction of which most won't get spent until 2011 and beyond? Did you know there is something like 100 million for condoms? I guess there just might be something stimulated.

I do'nt know what all the fuss is about. Obama ran on a platform of 1 trillion dollars to be spent on new social programs. So ? He's spending that money, for sure. So, what's the surprise ? All that has to happen to thaw the credit freeze is for the democrats to ONCE AGAIN mandate lending...

I think they should be required to explain where they've spent the current bailout money and how it's actually helped anybody besides the bigshots before they are allowed to spend any more.

A lot of the bailout money is being held to counter further losses. I agree, let them go under. Then, someone else will pay for the assets and run the bank better. BTW, did they get rid of the threat of suing for racism if banks don't lend to minorities with poor credit? I'd hate to think we're stuck in a subprime repeater on that front!
