Pelosi Open to Prosecution of Bush Administration Officials
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is receptive to the idea of prosecuting some Bush administration officials, while letting others who are accused of misdeeds leave office without prosecution, she told Chris Wallace in an interview on "FOX News Sunday."
"I think you look at each item and see what is a violation of the law and do we even have a right to ignore it," the California Democrat said. "And other things that are maybe time that is spent better looking to the future rather than to the past."

Who'd a thunk it.The new power rounding up and disposing those that are in their way. The people will have to give them permission, for their own good of course. But they'd need a way to communicate that to them. Hmmm
"The country can't move ahead with these obstructionist in the way" I'd almost bet on that word for word.

This Abu Ghraib thing won't go away anytime soon. If only to determine our future course for the execution of combat operations, this question will continue to be raised, and like it or not, it probably should. What occurred in the form of terrorism and our response to "potential" threats resulted in a lot of journeys into uncharted waters.
Wiretapping Americans, embedded reporters, water-boarding, etc...new turf for America... and the questions about them are valid.
Don't like Pelosi? I don't either. But if it weren't her, it would be someone else.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here. The problem is that the left tends to maintain the revolting part (like embedded reporters who spin reports from their inception) while attacking that which may be effective (waterboarding). No matter...we are circling the bowl and headed for the top of the 3rd world heap.
RE: Pelosi Open to Prosecution of Bush Administration Officials
You're right about the left and their handling of such matters.
I often think that Bush's greatest failures were rooted in poor communications skills. The right should have been more outspoken and helpful in filling those communications gaps and problems.
Bush is leaving and his image is lousy. I know others have stated that "history will be the final judge," but no matter what, history will have to cover a lot of ground to go from his present approval ratings status to that of a respected president who did the best he could with the cards he was dealt.
The left and the media played a large role in seizing the opportunity to portray all things conservative as wrong. For proof of that, one need only examine the gushing taking place in the media now over the Obama takeover of the White House. Amazing to watch. The things that are being said are not so much as being questioned. There is this "feeling" that we are somehow on the verge of greatness once again.
In my mind, its all nonsense. We have, for many, many years had black mayors, congressmen and women, senators, and on and on. To me, it is no big deal that we elected a man who happens to be black. I don't see it as remarkable at all, certainly not the the extent that people are practically wetting their shorts over the idea that they might find themselves within 10 miles of where his train passed by. Truly rock star stuff and the nation itself has problems at this moment which should be addressed now. We have no time for gushing and this false mysticism that is all over the airwaves as I write this.
It is as though people think that we will suddenly change directions. I've lived too long and seen far too much to fall for that type of rhetoric.
Instead he will do what he has to do to deal with what we have to deal with. Already he's following similar trails and doing the same things that Bush and Company did. Yet that type of thing is being portrayed as conciliatory and therefore more proof of his honor and greatness. It is a form of madness and I predict that when it all comes tumbling down, we'll hear the sound of flesh hitting concrete...because after all, he's certainly going to fail to meet the "promise" which is being attributed to him.
That is not to say that I don't wish him the best of luck. He is going to be our president in a matter of hours. But...there was only one guy I ever heard of that could walk on water. And his name was not Obama.
The dems and the left had better not get too caught up in "the moment," or hyping the "historical relevance of this moment." When they sweep up the streets of DC in a few days and empty those Port-O-Pottys, the stink of what we're facing as a nation will still be there for Obama et al.
We'll then see if his "magic" is real.
"22 Hours & Counting"...that's the banner beneath the talking heads on CNN as they interview the star-struck participants on the Mall in DC.
RE: Pelosi Open to Prosecution of Bush Administration Officials
Excellent post VC! Obama is already moving to the center to get things accomplished. I would imagine he's getting tired of Pelosi trying to run the White House from congress but I'm sure he'll eventually deal with her and her inherent stupidity. The Democrats ought to seriously consider removing her as Speaker and selecting somebody who actually wants to make progress instead of just flame throwing. The same observation goes for the Republicans--They have an opportunity to make progress as well.
Both sides ought to put aside the blame game, stop arguing about abortion, trying to achieve gun control, abu graib, the pre-war intelligence failures and other miscellaneous crap that should be way down on either party's priority list. These are hot button issues that appeal to the extreme parts of both parties and essentially do nothing to solve any problems. And NO, I am not calling any of us pro-2nd amendment people extreme (read the above sentences more carefully).
Instead, both sides should focus on solving our financial crisis (hint--stop giving away money), reducing spending, reducing the deficit (yes, it really is about the economy) and figuring out how to finish dealing with Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. We can't simply walk away, ignore it or just let those countries fall apart. Having said that, we also don't need to fight separate wars in 3 countries at once while trying to eradicate al queda, terrorism and catch that rat Bin Laden. We need to think smarter, outside the box and start appointing, assigning, empowering people who really get it and understand hown to achieve those goals. And that's my .02.

Thank God for Law and Order reruns. The pimpering over this dud is making my stomach queezy. It stays on cable for at least a week until the cowering slows a bit. If anything else happens in the world before this abomination passes, we won't hear about it.
Pelosi better quit while she is ahead, more tit for tat is the last thing we need and a war that the liberals can't win with their past record. However calling her a Moron is a insult to real Morons.
