RE: Obama, the latest Marvel comic character.
In the top right frame, Spiderman and Obama are knuckle bumping instead of shakeing hands. Would Bush or McCain be knuckle bumping????
Vedy veddy interesting.

Dunno why, but the terms "Very gay" come to mind immediately. Its just another example of folks setting themselves up for some major disappointment when this guy fails to meet some very high expectations.

Will this wild adulation never stop? This is not the first example, however.
This I remember like it was yesterday. I didn"t know how Superman was going to get out of this one. He was saving lives and Clark Kent had to be in another place as a trial witness. Well, Superman did his thing and saved the train from plunging into a canyon. At the same time, Clark Kent met with the lawyers. How could this be? Someone Superman trusted must have posed as Clark, because no one for sure could have taken Superman"s place. Well, when the mask came off, it was the president!!! Superman said: "Who can you trust if not the president of the USA?"
I took a long pause".
This was more than 40 years ago and the president was dead. The man featured in the comic book was JFK and the comic had been printed before he died. It came out in December, 1963 after Kennedy was shot the month pervious. The publisher let it go instead of trying to recall all the editions, although Kennedy had been murdered in the interim. Kennedy family authorities agreed with the decision.
I say all this to just mention that there sure has been glorification of presidents prior to Obama. All this talk about folks creating a superstar presidency, well, there"s a precedent for it being done long ago. And I remember it quite well.
