Default Russia has sounded conditions for renewal of cooperation with NATO: the USA should apologise

Russia can renew cooperation with NATO in military area only after the USA recognise, that rupture of relations - result of their unilateral and not constructive actions and apologies will make for it. It was declared by the deputy chief of the Joint Staff colonel general Anatoly Nogovitsyn. Its statement has followed the statement of a supreme commander in chief Incorporated armed forces of NATO in Europe the American general John Kreddoka about necessity to restore cooperation of an alliance with Moscow.
"Not we were initiators of the termination of our relations in military sphere. Moreover, the USA have demanded from NATO of rupture of contacts to Russia in military sphere, having made on us responsible for events in South Ossetia, having accused in aggression against Georgia and disproportionate application of force during operation on compulsion of Georgia to the world though perfectly knew who actually the aggressor", - has reminded the deputy chief of the Joint Staff.
In its opinion, for restoration interrupted "on a pointer of the United States" cooperation of Russia and the NATO is necessary, that Washington has explained the reasons of the actions and "has given clear signals about desirability of restoration of cooperation".
According to the deputy chief of the Joint Staff, the statement of general Kreddoka for necessity of restoration of cooperation between an alliance and Russia is "the propaganda step calculated on attraction of attention of mass-media". Nogovitsyn named its statement words behind which it is not necessary anything concrete.

That posion that Viktor Yushchenko decided to consume just to draw attention to his cause is proof enough, they are at fault.

I would hope that Russia recognizes the inherent value of maintaing a close relationship with NATO regardless of the day-to-day politics of the two. China and India may be a couple of Moscow's biggest customers right now, but it still looks like they're each going to surpass Russia in terms of economy and globalpower within the next generation. Unless you guys want to get swallowed up in a multipolar world, you'd better learn to play nice with the West.

point taken aught however, I must ask you where will India or China get there energy from? It was no accident when it came to Russia attacking Georgia or for the latest conflict of Russia cutting gas off from europe. Their boldness has everything to do with energy because oil is key for everyone's future.

Not only from their developing nuclear power programs, but of course from OPEC. The thing, though, that Russia is going from boom to bust with the price of oil where it is. They grew too fast to rely on oil exports alone, and it's biting them now. I wish them luck trying to overhaul their military, let alone their economy, now that their GDP has taken such a hit.

And I refer back to Russia's demographics. Their population has continued to shrink since the collapse of the USSR. The fact that endemic alcoholism and a decrepit healthcare system have contributed to an average male life expectency of just over 59 years is mind-boggling. They're in for a world of hurt sooner or later.

Great points, I've forgot about. However, they have a good friend coming into office. Obama is all about this green energy BS and I'm willing to bet he will ban off shore drilling as well as block drilling in places that the oil companies are ready to go. Obama needs high energy prices to become a hero with renewable energies. This will play right into the hand of Putin.

He's got a lot more to lose doing that, I think. Americans have very high expectations of him, and adiversifiedenergy policy is one thing they want most. I still hear a lot of conservatives grumble over Obama, but in spite of the company he keeps, he's really stuck closer to the middle ground on some important issues than many had expected. If he manages to keep his underlingsin line, though, I think he will go ahead with more drilling.

Sorry, not convince in the least. I think many are "hopefull" of something but have no clue of what. I offer up the fact that no administration has had this many corrupt individuals ever to be appointed to posts. Then the icing on the cake, we're told these folks are the best of the best. Shouldn't we expect better? Bush has been accused of breaking the law (I don't agree) for national security. Everyone of Obama's appointments who have problems are problemsto do with personal gain. Am I missing something?

I'm hopefull that Obama does go ahead will drilling forour nations sake, however I'm pulling for the ban fortotally personal reasons.

It's all about keeping his people in line. He was angering liberals before he even got the nomination. Obviously they came together in November, but they're already starting to fragment now that Obama's not instantly kissing the @$$es of all the various special-interests who supported his campaign. Anti-war, gay rights, anti-gun, and civil rights groups all have something negative to say about the man.

He's going to have to play the game one way or the other, but no matter how you look at things up to this point, it's not as bad asI hadexpected. We'll see what happens once he gets the executive pen in his hand.
