Default What good are the police?

I try to be a supporter of law enforcement, but, I'm about fed up.

A scumbag broke into my son's house today, as well as his inlaws house (two houses built on one large lot). Third time in two years. Got about a thousand bucks worth of electronics from my son, a Wii, a PSP, a DVD Player. a laptop. Got a jewelry box and a Movado watch from the mother in law's bedroom. A neighbor saw the kid leaving the property with a sack of goodies. Everyone in the neighborhood knows who it is. My son and his father in law confronted the kid at his house. Father in law told the kid to give him one of his shoes, which he did. It clearly matched footprints under the window and around the houses. The cops came out. Said that, yes, the footprint matched, but, the father in law could have put them there using the shoe. Now, keep in mind, he had ONE shoe, the other was still with the kid. And, there were both LEFT and RIGHT footprints around the houses. Cop insists "you could have contaminated the scene. You could have turned the shoe around and made both prints." WHAT???!!!??? How in the heck can you do that? Moron. The cops questioned the kid. Kid says "I didn't do it." Of course, what else is the little scumbag POS going to say? Cop says, "His word against yours. No probable cause. Nothing I can do. Best thing you can do is wait in your house until he breaks in again, and shoot him in the head."

What a piece of work. He's either a lazy worthless idiot not interested in doing his job or he's being paid off by the local pawn shops to look the other way. Go sit on your fat butt and eat a few more donuts.

The police are no longer here to protect and serve. There's no money in it for the city to give a rat's butt when some poor black kid breaks into people's houses and steals the stuff they've worked hard to acquire. If they catch the putrid little scumbag, they've got to pay for his public defender. They've got to pay for his meals in jail. It's a net lose for the city. However, just let your inspection sticker expire. If you're a week late, you can bet the cops will be right there to give you a ticket and collect $100 for the city... They're not around to enforce the law anymore. They've been reduced to a revenue stream. Tax collectors. Nothing more. Pathetic.

At 2:00am one morning, one of my neighnors (not the good kind) broke into the back of my plumbing van and carted away a $1000 Target tile saw, the problem is I seen him cart it into his home the last ten feet...my wife called the cops, and when they showed 40 minutes later, I was informed that they (the police) did not see him do it, so they did absoulutly nothing...they would not even go over and knock on his door...I was informed of the same thing it would be your word against his...This was in Montclair, Ca, a city that is only 1 sq mile, with more cops in it that any small city in Southern California per capita...and as for taking 40 minutes to get there...we have quite a few donut shops around here...
I know the feeling!!!!

I think if concealed carry laws were nationwide, and most responsible citizens carried, we could cut police force by 90% and would be better off for it.

Around here they ticket you for starting up your motorcycle, have nothing better to do...

Seriously why do we need so many police officers? for what? half these guys are just on a power trip to begin with, I guess the screening process allows for this, otherwise who would become a cop?

I am glad you are starting to see some of the light ipscshooter.. It's all the same way here though! The thugs get away with it at almost no problem at all.. The have been stealing copper pipes out from under houses and trailers up here for quite some time. That's not to mention my grandparents had to go to a nursing home this past spring. Their place was broken into 4 times last summer. To top it all off the insurance company charges $500 deductable for each time they did it and it was reported. It now has gotten to the point that it is no longer worth reporting. It is cheaper to repair the breaking in point yourself rather than make a report.. What the heck is this world coming to?

Hmmmm. Used to be so many kids wanted to grow up to be cops or firemen. What changed? Police departments running on polls and public opinion now?

And also sad, how many "Police Chiefs" are lining up with Handgun Control International (or whatever it's called now, the old "Brady Bunch") to take away your firearms.

You don't suppose they're thinking, "We don't want to do our jobs, and we don't want you doing our jobs for us, either?" Will we see the day where the PIO will talk about the string of home burglaries and say, "...the fugitive remains on the loose, but we've arrested four homeowners who attempted to protect themselves with banned firearms"?

Sorry about the robberies.

Too manypolice departments now days are into feel good stuff like the "war on drugs" and the "war on terror." Manycops are SWAT and secret squirrel wannabees. We are pretty lucky in this county because we have a good sheriff and good deputies. We also have a prosecutor who will not take a righteous shooting case to the grand jury. That's right; the prosecutor in OK is not required to take a good shoot tothe grand jury.

Pawnshops arebig business. Here in OK we have the "pawnshop act" that protects pawnbrokers from being prosecuted for receiving stolen goods. If you are robbed and find all your stuff in a pawnshop the only legal recourse you have is to buy it back.

About a month ago my brother in law and sister had a few people over at thier house. These two guys and a girl showed up and the one guy was being a real prick towards this girl, almost abusive.

My brother in law got into an argument with him about it and the 2 left. They returned later with a baseball bat and started beating on my sisters new car with it, both were drunk and when my brother in law went out it led to them jumping him.Keep in mind this has all taken place on his property.my sioster tries to stop it and winds up with a bruise from one of the two hitting her.

My brother in law went in the house, grabbed his rifle, and went out and ran them off with it, never fired a shot just ran them off his property where they had assaulted them and caused property damage to thier vehichles.

The two drove away, drunk, and got pulled over for erratic driving a few blocks away, they told the cops my brother in law had pulled a gun on them and thats why they were driving the way they were.

The cop goes to my brother in laws house, he sees headlights pull in and thinks the two are back again so he steps out of his garage with rifle in hand and the cop freaks out, my brother in law lays the gun down when asked and is cuffed and promptly charged with two felonies, threatening a cop with a gun {never happened} and another for pulling a gun on the two idiots. He spent several days ion jail,All his guns are confiscated and hes looking at serious jail time.

The other two were let go, the cops didnt care about the assault or vandalism, never checked to see if they were drunk driving, and never wrote them so much as a traffic ticket for the way they were driving.Theres pictures of the bruises and cuts on both my sister and her husband, pics from them smashing up thier cars with bats, and he gets arrested for defending his own property and ias awaiting his court date to see if he gets his guns back and or will have to do time for this BS.

If he gets thrown in jail and is a cinvicted felon over this it sends a pretty clear message to me that if you want the criminals dealt with you have to do it yourself, these two guys better hope I dont run into them any time soon or Ill show em what an ass whooping with a baseball bat feels like.

Now they want to be gangsta rappas or pimps.

I wish you would send some of your excess police officers this way. Most of the departments I work with are short-handed to seriously-short handed.
