Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bush Rejected Israeli Plea To Attack Iran

Good on Bush.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090111/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_israel

WASHINGTON "“ President George W. Bush rejected a plea from Israel last year to help it raid Iran's main nuclear complex, opting instead to authorize a new U.S. covert action aimed at sabotaging Iran's suspected nuclear weapons program, The New York Times reported.

Israel's request was for specialized bunker-busting bombs that it wanted for an attack that tentatively involved flying over Iraq to reach Iran's major nuclear complex at Natanz, where the country's only known uranium enrichment plant is located, the Times reported Saturday in its online edition. The White House deflected requests for the bombs and flyover but said it would improve intelligence-sharing with Israel on covert U.S. efforts to sabotage Iran's nuclear program.

That's all the involvement they wanted from the USA, the bombs?

I'm sure Israel could have found a way to pull it off if they wanted to.

They'll strike sooner or later. It is considered the least bad optionby a lot of policy makers in the West. But the time has to be right.

I would think the time is right. Lets do it now while the Israelis are cranked up and half way through the fight. It's time for the whole world to take a stand against terrorist.

I think they should have let them use the airspace, better the the USA having to clean up another mess over there.

I'm not so sure it was a good thing to reject them. Obama has already signaled that he has no problem with Iran obtaining the bomb. Can't remember who had said this comment but it is so true. The left went nuts over Reagan when he had his hand on the football and nuts again when GW also had his hand on the football. However, they aren't the least bit worried about Iran owning the bomb. How sad![:@]

We need to let Israel do whatever is needed if we are not going to do it ourselves. Someone is going to have to contend with Iran and the longer it is put off, the more people will have to die.
