How is he supposed to do that? Congress makes the laws, the POTUS can only sign or veto. Maybe BHO doesn't yet realize there is a limit to his power?

Imagine what the press, and our resident commies, would have had to say if Gov. Palin said "I'm going to ban earmarks." She caught a lot of grief here regarding her explanation, to elementary schoolers, of the V.P.'s role in the Senate...
How many times have we heard that crap. When I see it, I might believe it or check to see if they just shuffled the paper work. How would we ever know what the hell they are doing when those kind of numbers are involved. One guy asked today on Fox, "What comes after Trillion so I can be ready"
They can tell us anything they want. They could tell us the budget is now balanced, How the heck would we know until the Chinese put up their flag with a Walmart Flag under it.[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:'(]
I suppose the 'No Earmarks' would be a real test for the 'Change' that americans want, or atleast a small start.I don't expect Congress to give up their piggy bank either. Changing Congress seems to be a better way to Change anything, Term limits would be a good way to start. We made one small step in the process by changing presidents and party, although the bureaucracy is so large, itsurely willswallow up any positive steps made. We definately don't need more roads to no-where as Palin had built. Obama has his hands full, the Republicans in Congress and state level's are not wanting things to change at all, and will even fight the country's recovery.
The Dems have full control in just a few days. They can't blame President Bush for laws they won't pass.
Do you really think BHO is serious about getting rid of earmarks? The same guy that said the deficit will be over 1 TRILLION next year?

What road is that? Seems AK had so much money left over in their budget under her lead that the citizens there got a rebate. I guess we sure don't need any leaders inD.C. that know anything about creating a surplus.
BHO has already said his "plan" for more jobs is nothing more than more gov't spending on "infrastructure". That's the only part of the "plan" I've heard about, as far as jobs go. Reckon how many roads to nowhere this includes?
I'm also curious to know where the Constitution states that it's the gov'ts duty to provide jobs for citizens, especially at the expense of taxpayers. Seems there's a term for that........redistribution of wealth? Socialism?

Just about half of the bill is earmarks. When you have the bottom 45% of folks that pay just under 5% of the income taxes collected getting a stimulus check, it is called welfare. No points yet. If for some reason he actually takes a stand on the mess in Gaza or the mess in Illinois, he might get some points.

The private sector, which led us to this ongoing economic calamity, has been conspicuously absent from any attempts at turning the situation around. The private sector has basically given up and is itself looking to the government to rescue them. As unpalatable as it might be, given the utter failure of the private sector to confront the situation, we will have to rely on sweeping actions by the Federal Government to keep this very nasty recession from turning into a full fledged depression.
