Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

while the people wanting it may have the best of intensions... I think its flawed in many ways

There was a recent blurb in a magazine I read to the effect that New York state has had some such system in place for seven years, the system has cost more than $1 M/year since the inception of the system, there have been only 2 hits on the database, there have been no arrest/charges made based on the system. The system in New York has been a TOTAL BUST. I would not think many states would be anxious to enact such an expensive and unproductive law in a time of severe economic challenges to the states.

Looks like the three guys who thought this up might have had good intentions, but followed that by seeking a patent on the process, then hiring a lobbying firm (GTH)to help themforce this upon Washington State (and others).

Smells to me like it's more about making money now than it is about good intentions.

It's all about dumping taxpayer money into a system that has been proven many times over to be flawed at best, These databases have historically done nothing to reduce gun related crime. Just more legislation to harass honest law abiding gun owners instead of enforcing laws that are already on the books.
