Thanks Obama for caving to your liberal base. Appointing a person to head the CIA with no intellegence experience what so ever, during a time of two wars and a hornets nest of terrorists. Who wants to lay down money on how quick we start seeing attacks here in America. I dont think we will be seeingany morestories about a terrorist attempt stopped, but how many are dead due to a terrorist attack.

Even if Obama get's two terms of office, the negative consequences of poor conduct of foreign affairs and poor business/economic policy will not play out until his successor -- perhaps a Republican -- is in office. Then the body politic will blame the successor rather than Obama. I'm not kidding.
This effect can easily beperceived in government by any with the eyes to see and the ears to hear. Who believes that GW Bush has so swift and effective in his ineptitude as to plant the seeds, cultivate the young shoots, clear the weeds, and harvest the fruits of terrorism in a mere 9 months after taking office? Obviously 9/11 was the result of forces put into motion long before Bush took office, but he takes the fall for it.
Further, this is very common in the business world where attention is way too focused on near term results -- specifically the next quarter. Strategic thinking cannot happen on a quareterly cycle -- it has to be longer time horizon than this. But most people just don't remember the recent past well enough.
I really don't see a problem appointing someone with no intelligence experience to help keep safe a voting public that has no intelligence at all. We have not been attacked in over 7 years, I guess a new attack would be "Change we can count on!!!!"

Yeah, I think Bush did a pretty good job on foreign policy. I'm not real big into his obsession with global democracy, but as far as international relations go, he was alright.
They will probably put Franken in charge of Home Land security. The bad guys will be so busy laughing that they won't be able to mount a attack. Caroline could be the Sub Chair.
I was going to say put Franken in charge of the CIA, and he could replace water boarding with listening to Air America. The only problem with that is the terrorist would probablyenjoy Air America.
