Dunno about this. I mean, hell, nothing has been proven in a court of law against Blago and he gets to appoint a Senator. Until something is proven against Richardson why not let him serve in the position.

I think the difference is; Richardson is being appointed and not doing the appointing. Whatever Richardson does as a Governor should be allowed until he is found guilty.

Say what you want to about Richardson but he is a pro-gunner who has a CCW.Yes, he did vote for the AWB in 94. He also voted to repeal the AWB when he saw that it could not work.Richardson was backed by the NRA.
I think the point is that it could be argued that, until charges are proven, then someone should be free to appoint or accept an appointment. In both the instances under discussion, it could end badly, but nonetheless, if one is currently acceptable then both should be.
