take 'so help me God' out of inaugural???

WASHINGTON (CNN)[/b] -- A number of atheists and non-religious organizations want Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony to leave out all references to God and religion.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Washington, the plaintiffs demand that the words "so help me God" not be added to the end of the president's oath of office.

In addition, the lawsuit objects to plans for ministers to deliver an invocation and a benediction in which they may discuss God and religion.

I am kinda glad all these lawsuits have taken place lately. There's another with a Marine who is athiestclaiming Christian patterns in the military.

I think its time the US makes it clear where they stand with God. God is everywhere, at every goverment officials death, to every patriotic statue in DC, but then the goverment declares officially we are not a Christian country. They try to act like unofficially we are. Just about every neighborhood in the country started with a Christian church being the cornerstone of the nieghborhood. Either we stand for Christ as a country or we don't. This messing around trying to play both sides of the fense is not working.
