Default Bush Withdraws Pardon-Good On HIm

President Bush took the unprecedented step of withdrawing a pardon that he made public on Tuesday. Turns out there was a lot more dirt on the pardonee that was previously known by the white house. Good on Bush.

The Daily News story on Wednesday, and another in Newsday and on blogs, shed light on Toussie's record. He pleaded guilty for lying to HUD and mail fraud, admitting that he falsified finances of prospective homebuyers seeking HUD mortgages. He was sentenced to five months in prison and five months' house arrest, a $10,000 fine and no restitution, the Daily News reported.

In another case, Toussie pleaded guilty to having a friend send his local county a letter that falsely inflated property values.

The Daily News also located a lawyer representing hundreds of ex-customers who have sued Toussie in federal court, accusing him of luring poor, minority homebuyers into buying overpriced homes with mortgages that had hidden costs.

Bush is an idiot. First he gives a pardon based on what information? Do they have a hat they pull names from? You'd think this kind of thing would have been researched extensively before anything was said. Then he reverses the decision because of information he got from where? THE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He should've just ask ABC NBC CNN... to come up with a list.

"Unheard in recent memory" stupidity is how it should be reported. "The father donated money recently" clever way to spin it. WE JUST HAD AN ELECTION, A BIG ONE. They act like it was done arbitrarily, for no particular reason but to bribe. With that logic no republican that gave money to defeat what the party called "the most important election" would qualify for a pardon, only a dem who hates repubs would.

Is the move legal? Once you are pardoned you are done. How can a person re-instate a conviction?

You have a point, there may be a legal basis for argument...
