Some of this is still relevant. Anyone who filed a 2007 return AFTER 10/15/2008 or filed an amendment thattheoretically entitled them to more "stimulus"did not receivethe correct(or any, depending) "stimulus payment". However, anyone in that boat can still receive their "stimulus" if they file 2008 taxes. There should be a line item on the 2008 1040 regarding collecting the payment (or the difference). It's not too late yet.

What about the taxpayers who do not or did not file because of their low incomes?

It is my understanding that they can file (they have to file sometime to get it) for2008 after 01/15/2009whether they normally would or not, in order to recieve their stimulus payment. They may have no taxable income, but they still need to file and list sources of income that entitle them to receive payment (Such as SS, even though it may not be taxable in their case)

The stimulus is just a trap to get them to file. They will make a few hundred for the check and pay thousands in interest and penalty. Those evil IRS people.[:@]
