I think colleges want a winning program and they are going to hire the absolute best coach they can regardless of skin color, or anything else for that matter.

I agree. Must be they aren't qualified. EEO will even the ratio soon under Obama.

Who knows, there is probably no set answer. Funny though that, Notre Dame seemed to be in a real hurry to fire a black guy and then sign a white Catholic to a longterm deal and then stick with him when he sucks just as bad. Of course, it didnt help that the black guy went on to royally suck at his next coachng job.

I'll confess I don't know very much about the college football scene. But it's obvious that a lot depends on who a coach can recruit. Charlie Weis at Notre Dame is stuck with the guys that his predecessor recruited. It will be interesting to see how he does next year.
