The state faces a $28 billion budget shortfall over the next two years. If nothing is done, nearly $5 billion in public-works projects could be halted in little more than a week for lack of bond sales "“ everything from bridge replacements to a new highway tunnel and billions of dollars' worth of school construction, according to state Treasurer Bill Lockyer.
Already, the state failed to attract enough buyers three weeks ago to sell all of the bonds it had floated, he told state lawmakers Monday.
"Expecting investors to purchase our bonds now, when we can't agree on a budget that lenders can rely on, is like expecting someone to buy a stock when they know it's losing value," said Mr. Lockyer
Arnold will do what he always has...be a actor...a Hollywood elite, that does nothing (ever) all he knows how to do is talk...talk...talk...I live here and I am fed up with his a**.
The sooner he goes the better off this state will be, this state has had severe money problems all of 2007, and then add that up with a State that cannot even pass a budget and when they did pass it, it was 4-5 months late, the budget only lasted about 30 days or so before they announce that the money will be gone...and now that budget does not even exist...There is about 30 others in this State that need to go along with Arnold and just leave.
I wonder if these people can even balance there owncheckbooks?
Honestly, I am fed up with California, the money problems, immigration problems, jobs dissapearing every day, and the cost of living...maybe it's time to move somewhere else...but the big question would be where!

Plenty of other places where the cost of living, hunting, etc. is better.Quality of jobs and salary may not be like California, but then again, i don't know of many folks making less than 50K a year in California who can afford to buy their own homes and hunting ground like you can in lots of other states.

Other than some really cool motorcycle roads, i have no use for California. Everything they have can be found in much nicer places.

Dont worry, Pelosi will have congress add california to the bail out..
I'd go for that on the condition that they asked Arnold and the entire State senate to step aside. Otherwise forget it...just throwing money into the State of no return.
