He closed numerous state parks, took revenue from the DNR, eliminated check stations due to budget cuts. He's no friend of hunters or sportsmen.

Where to start!!!!!....First there is the fact that this man has almost completely shut down our DNR. The DNR is no longer it's own department in Illinois, but now falls under the State police. What this means is, it is very easy for money normally set aside for the DNR to moved to other departments. Then there is the great rails-to-trails program, which has been 100% funded by money brought it by hunting and fishing license fees, money that was suppose to go to State Parks and the DNR, which again no longer exsists. Then there is the fact that he was pushing an assualt rifle ban State wide that would outlaw any shotgun that was capable of holding 5 or more rounds, all .50 caliber weapons (ML's included), any weapon with a thumbhole stock, and so much more. Then there is the $500 per year FOID (Firearm Owner ID) card, which is required in the State of Illinois to purchase any ammo or firearms. Finally, the fact that he continues to shut down State Parks and close public hunting grounds. These are only just a few items for hit "highlight" reel.
