Here I am at work, and as usual at noon they play the National Anthem, even as a child knowing what my father and his generation did in WWII the Anthem made my chest swell with pride, when I was in the Air Force it swelled even further, but now that my son is in the Marines and over in Iraq fighting for our safety, the safety of the world, and the liberation of the Iraqi people my chest almost burst with pride, a lump raises in my throat and a tear comes to my eye!
I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN!!!!!!!
What do you feel when you hear our National Anthem?
I wonder what the antis feel when they hear it, especially since they are starting to see the joy of the Iraqis we have liberated so far?

I never served...But I am proud for (or because of) those who did. I am also thankful for our country.
I am a teacher, and EVERY time we say the Pledge Of Allegiance, I get teary....
I might also add...I' d also like permission to strangle those in my classes that choose not to say the pledge. To me they are traitors. God forbid I say that at work............

I love that song. It makes me feel proud and patriotic. I always get a tear in my eye. And I always think of Francis Scott Key looking out over Fort McHenry and seeing that ' OUR FLAG WAS STILL THERE.'
