Default Gun sales & Obama??

In some weird and wako kind of way. Obama is helping the economy already..... at least if your in the gun, ammo etc. industry.

I went to a gun show yesterday in Denver and it was CRAZY!!! I've never seen a gun show with so many people waitng to get in. We got in right @ 9:00am left about 11 and there was still quit a line. It was a madhouse. I decided that it might be a little less stressful to check out the Sportsmans Warehouseand see if they had what I was looking for. They barely had ANY handguns, powder, bullets, etc. They say that they can't keep'em stocked. I found what I was looking for and they said that the backround check would be right @ an hour. This was @ 12:05pm. I finally left @ 3:00 and told them to call me when it went through.

Went back this morning and while I did get checked. They were telling other guy's that the wait was running about 20 hrs. Not that they had much to sell anyway.
In some way I feel likewe're poking the LIBS in the eye just a little
Has anyone else seen this going on????? Time to buy stock????

Bill

Yup... It's like that everywhere. I imagine it's only going to get worse before January 20th when Obama and Biden officially take office. [:'(]

The gun shows I have seen here in Richmond, VA are the same way. Crowds like I have never seen before. Long lines, packed to capacity, and by afternoon, most of the vendors are completely sold out. [&:]

Yes, it's pretty frustrating. BUT - even IF this "500 percent" tax on ammunition and components materializes, It's not going to stop me from shooting. Maybe shoot a little less, but not stop.

On the other hand, this "armor piercing ammunition ban" idea is concerning. Certain nefarious, unreasonable influences who are celebrating the Obama victory ARE cause for concern. What constitutes "armor piercing"? Penetrates Kevlar? Penetrates a SAPI plate? Penetrates the frontal armor of an M1A1? My fear is that they'll choose the least protective "armor" possible (which nearly all centerfire rifle calibers and shotgun slugscan defeat) and then we're going to have problems.

Anyone hunt deer with a .22LR?

On the other hand, such legislation or executive order will again mobilize the forces that largely caused "gun control" to be glad-handed by Howard Dean and his party during THIS election("yeah, we support your right to own a gun, too"). They counted on us forgetting their stance during the 2000 and 2004 elections - AND WE DID. I'll predict that ANY excessive tax or ban will show their true colors and be reflected in the 2010 and 2012 elections.

Short lived stimulus package. Bad part is, it is going to cause some buisnesses to close their doors, so the short lived boost will be gone 1000 fold.
