Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default oil price

why are they pissin and moanin about the price of a barrel of oil dropping? i thought that was good. I heard that the oil prices need to stay around $90 a barrel to keep the Venz and Iranians functioning. Something like that.

Have yall heard this.

Why the heck should I care about them, drill here and dont even buy oil from them. I could careless about them needing $90 a barrel.

Either I don't understand economics or our higher ups care more about them than us.

Who is pissing and moaning?

The Dems will raise the Federal Gasoline Tax to $1.00. They know the only thing that makes alternatives atractive and to limit gas useis to have high gas prices. They aren't happy gas is under a $2.00.

You are correct about Iranians, Venezuela and throw in Russia, they need oil to be over $100/barrel. Venezuela and Russia have both seen oil production drop since they took over oil companies. They have been robbing the profits for their social programs (sound like what Dems do?) and doing a very poor job with the programs. The Iranians need more money to fund their war machine. Already they too were failing to control their economy while funding their nuke program but these cheap prices make it really impossible.

Now is when we need to continue with the "drill baby drill" attitude so that we really put the screws to Venezuela and the other OPEC countries. But, with the price of oil dropping and with this new president and congress, you can kiss that goodbye.

With the price of gas low again, I predict we are going to see federal tax increases on gas, and the states are sure to follow. That is exactly the opposite of what we need to do. That tax will supposedly be used help build a bridge to alternative, clean burning fuels, and to rebuild our nations roads and bridges and "put people back to work."

This low cost gas will be short lived...there will be a raise in the gas tax of course...it won't even last til spring if that long!

I don't look for big fast increases in the near future. I think speculation is in check now.

I know that would be nice but you must look at reality. China and India are fast growing markets with billions or peole, most without cars. They are now buying cars and will cut into supplies.Courts have blocked the new drilling in Alaska and the Dems don't want off shore drilling. Demand will increase over 30% by 2030 and oil will be around $200/barrel (DOE numbers not mine). I think thats consevative at best. Also, don't look for alternatives any decade soon to cut into those numbers. We need gas at over $10/gallon.

I'd bet you understand it well enough. Just think about it. The "heading" is "you keeping more of your money" this is a good thing. Now you have those people who rant and rave about how "government x" is taking, no robbing you of your money, defending "business x" while they do just that. Takes me about 2 seconds to smell the stink from that puckering hole in the middle of their face. Oh no, gas is going up a buck, this is a bad thingright! The same hole has been defending the higher than that cost for some time.

And yes, the higher ups did, the new ones do too.

Just think about all the doom that's been predicted, How can anyone say what anything is going to be when our destruction is so eminent.

It is entirely possible that the price will rise to the levels it was and those coming into power finding that a positve thing. Those in control of oil have proven they will waste the world for a buck. What do you do when you want to trap and kill a bear? Are they smart enough to deal fairly and responsibly with the people. If they care about their country and survival they will. but I doubt it.

If the world demand is going to jack the price, why the hell has the price of gas dropped more than half in a couple months? Demand drop by 100 percent? The price will go up but unless speculation runs wild again, any gain should be slow. Time will tell. Our gas dropped from 4.25 to 1.48.

Trust the speculation unless California gets their head out of their butt. They are right now in major crisis mode wondering what they are going to do. 11 billion short fall. Arnold F'd up by not standing like a real man and bending to his knees like a girly man. They need to do something and they are sitting on billions of barrels of oil, what do you do?
