I have been arguing this point on this same thread in the off season forum.
Once a stampeed starts you can not stop it unless you want to be trampled your self. The people ten or twenty spots back have no idea that someone has fallen and getting trampled. All they can do is attempt to avoid that person when they get to them. If they stop to help them up they still get trampled themselves and end up in the same boat.
The only way to prevent a stampeed like this is not to allow it to happen in the first place. That means not having thesedoor bustersales like this with out some very strict security and croud control. IMO Walmart is 100% liable to the dead persons family andI hope the family is awarded millions.
Walmart had the sale. Walmart advertised the sale. Walmart allowed
2000 people to pack up against the doors until they busted.Walmart did nothing to control the croud.Walmart is liable.

This one happened in Grand Rapids, Michigan a few years ago and a pregnant woman was trampled here as well. Thankfully she didn't die. The 13 year old girl trying to help the pregnant woman was trampled and taken to the hospital as well as another woman.
(refer to the stampeed effectabove)
How many times does this need to happen before someone holds Walmart criminally neglegant?
