Just curious what the resident leftists think about Obama's decision to keep Robert Gates on as SecDef. I'd think that would be sending you dailykos types into fits of apoplexy...

And what about Christina Romer as Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors? It seems that Prof. Romer is of the opinion that the types of tax increases Obama wants are counterproductive to economic growth...

Yep, Obama took the wind out of the sails of a few aspiring Democrat Sec Defs. WhenClinton came into office our congressman, Dirty Dave McCurdy, thought that he would be Sec Def. Then Willie appointedthatnutcase Les Aspin to the job.McCurdy hung in there, voting with the ultra liberals 100% of the time;hoping that he would still get the job.After the Somalia decacle and the demise of Aspin, Clinton was too smart to appoint a total idiot like McCurdy toSec Def.
