Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Global warming is occurring, failing to realize this is just ignorant. Now, whether man is causing it to increase is up for debate.....

speaking of global warming, given the recent studies saying that trees may actually lead to an increase in global warming, it'll be interesting to see how russia reacts when its time to redraft the Kyoto agreement

There's a lot of things I may not understand, the environment, however, is one subject of which I have quite the grasp

FM, show the facts rather than saying them

Since you elected to ignore the warming anomaly for El Nino, it seems rather inappropriate that you would start your graph during the cooling anomaly resulting from Mount Pinatubo...

Using chunks of time that small doesn't prove anything wahoo. That's a weather chart, not a climate change chart. The smallest chunk of time I would look at is 50 years, and that is really pushing it. This stuff happens in the geologic time scale, you gotta go way back before you can start mapping climate change.

That said, back when I was an undergrad, even before Al invented the internet or global warming, I did some work charting climate change in North America. There is a warming trend that we appear to currently be in. Unfortunately the warming trend started before the industrial revolution, so blaming ourselves or believing we can fix it may be far-fetched. The planet goes thru natural cycles, just like it goes thru 4 seasons in a year. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes it's frozen.

It would be best to plan what to do in the event of a warm-up, followed by a big freeze, instead of trying to force an entire planet into doing what we want.
