Still have not heard much in the way of accountability for one of the nation's worst financial disasters.
The occurrence was ENTIRELY preventable, yet no one has so much as one foot to the fire for all this.
If the common man had caused a tiny, tiny fraction of the anguish, chaos, and losses, he would be facing too many charges to count.
Taxes too high, socialism, national healthcare, Billary Clinton, Monica, un-American, white-flag-of-surrender, terrorist sympathizers, aide/and/comfort to enemy, strategery, newcyooler.
Did I get 'em all vc? I think that's about all the reasons you should require, that is of course if you are a true patriot,,,, are you a true patriot?

Didn't the "common man" bear at least a tiny fraction of the blame for the mess? If all those "commoners" were paying their mortgages on time, the problems wouldn't have been quite so bad...

The samepolitical pukes who dropped the ball onregulatory accountabilityare theones who are whining for more bailouts. No one from any of the banksis ever going to be found accountable for their innovative criminal acts.
The lion's share of those who defaulted should not have been granted mortgages to begin with. Look at the numbers. That alone bespeaks the irrational action on the part of regulation and a glaring lack of rational thinking by all government and private sector decision-makers involved...all in the name of profit and warm fuzzy legislative "feelings."
I consider those who defaulted as doing what they would obviously would do. Given the chance, they'd do it again. So who are the one's to blame?

The lenders are in the business of knowing how much to lend and to whom.
That's their business - their life's work.
Claiming they "didn't know any better" (if that's what they say) amounts to criminal negligence.
The lenders are clearly more at fault than the folks who borrowed the money.

Lets compared it to a doctor (analogus to the lenders)who prescribed a well known and trusted medicine (analogus to the money) but somehow the doctor prescribed this well known and trusted medicine to 10,000 people, and 40% of the patients died.
I think this analogy helps clarify things somewhat ehh?
Clearly the patients were wrong for seeking treatment, I mean gosh! The doctor was just "doing his job" right?
