Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What the GOP needs in to do in 4yrs (ramblings)

please take this what it is, Ramblings.

I personally think the GOP, if Obama does not screw things up as badly as we think he will, needs the most unlikely person to run. It is something rare and very hard to find in the party.
African american (there are a few in the party) Female (that's the hard part)
looks out for ALL the RIGHTS of ALL AMERICANS
this would be a major Move for the gop

would not hurt to have palin in the vp spot at that time (she was the reason many people in my area voted for McCain)

Obama is going to seek an 2nd term how many prez. have not. (try to get the amendment changed or removed to allow a 3rd term)

Just an idea that came to my mind. just my .02

If I was Obama this is what I would do
Obama may play nice for 2 years wait for midterms. tried to take some more senate and house sit with coat tail dem winning sits. also have coat tail state level wins. I just leave the this last part up to yall.

The Republican platform is fine - them actaually DOING what they promise is what's wrong.

Palin in 2012 ....

I'm not disinclined to speculate that the Republicans may have actually thrown the election this time around because they didn't have a viable candidate. Think abut it, what if you had 22 months to sandbag your opponent by allowing his party to run the worst possible candidate and then give them the win? You run the economy into the ground, continue funding a very unpopular war(s), and the winner in November will be under the microscope while trying to live up to his campaign promises to fix them. If he blows it, which is very likely, you have four years to groom your own candidate to pick up the pieces, as well as four years to figure out how to actually put things right and come up smelling like a rose. Your party would then be in power as long as you can sustain this new momentum, or until you(once again)forget how you got back in. Food for thought.

Palin in 2012 ....
She had her day off the rock. In 4 years she won't be quite as cute. I imagine she will make a run for the senate but that will be it.

The republican party needs to clean house! Get rid of the liberal mind set they have become. We should have four years to think about how to dust ourselves up, and buy the election like Obammy did.. Campaign reform? What a joke.

One of the problems facing the GOP, at least for the Presidential office, is the open primaries in some states. That's why McCain and Romney did so well. If all states had closed primaries, we could have been looking at a Huckabee/Paul ticket. I really don't think Obama could have beaten it. Every time he criticized Obama for his voting record, he got two handfuls back for his trouble. Huck and RP would have torn him a new one. McCain being a long-time Senator and something of a liberal himself, shot down the ticket. I think the country would respond to a real conservative from the GOP, but they won't get one unless things change in the primary process.

Ron Paul,

the right had its candidate plain and simple, he was a true conservative.

But, the right chose to go with the coporate sponsored, big $$$ good-ol-insider McCain.

They sold their political soul to the highest bidder, and now have reaped the bitter fruits.

Ron Paul is what the republican party is all about, McCain is nothing but another corporate puppet, just like Bush.

Listen all true conservatives!!!

If you want to win in 2012, leave behind the coporate loyaties, military contracts, oil companies and insurance firms and find what you are again and BE THAT - don't keep selling out.

If you are confused about what your party is, ask Ron Paul.

Only through that lense of purity of philosophy can you see your way ahead.

I agree with a lot of this, but you still won't get a real conservative ticket until open primaries are shut down.

You guys really think that a hardcore conservative who harps on abortion rights and such would have done better than McCain in this past election? NO way! If you guys nominate those kind of candidates you will never win the presidency again. The tide has turned for good in this country and this election proved it. The urban/suburban mentality outnumbers the rural mentality and the majority of Americans want no part of hardcore social conservatism. Closed primaries surely might help the social conservative type get the nomination of the republicans, but a candidate like this will never win the general election again. They had their day in the sun but after having someone like Bush representing them for the last 8 years, they are now history.

They won't need to do much of anything besides return to their core values of fiscal responsibility and small government. I have a feeling once the real BHO shows up, moderate Americawill wake up and see what they elected.
