Not sure what her definition of the "middle" is.
For what it is worth US senator Harry Reid is a real middle of the road guy
and a Mormon.Reid voted againstthe AWB but for Brady. Reid voted against the renewal of the AWB.
They force to governer from the middle. People forget Dems like Rep's have 3 factions in their party.
Liberal
Moderate
Conservative
The Dems got the majority from the conservative base of their party. Guys like Jim Webb
majority of both partiesare in the middle, being most of Obama plans are center based he will have a hard time selling left wing agenda's.

I have some cautious optimism that Obama will make an effort to try to deliver on some of the major issues that he has promised to deal with. However, I am more than a bit concern that Pelosi and her bunch will bog things down by trying to play petty partisan games on issues of far less importance rather than seeking a middle ground.

Given the grade given to him by the NRA and guns rights lobbyists who work in the Illinois Senate we know that his policy on gun rights is anything but in the middle. But hopefully that is something that he should completely avoid is he wants to live up to his campaign promises about working on real problems.
