I stayed around here alot last night after the poll results came through and witnessed somemean-spirited and hatefulposts by some longtime members of this forum. I looked this morning and witnessed that little has changed since last night. Suffice it to say that the majority here are not pleased with the selection of President-elect Obama. Some support their critisims with facts and I don't really have a problem with that. But others are just being downright hateful by posting some of this garbage (i.e. calling the man a coon, ******, suggesting that blacks have made no contribution to this nation, and even some have wished for the guys assassination). That's whyI decided to post this question. Are you ever embarrassed by the hateful posts that some people place here? Seriously, are you? This goes for both black and whites. We all share at least two things in common: 1. We're all Americans and 2. We all love the outdoors--and some of us even call ourselves Christians. I'm not saying we must agree on everything. This place would be awful boring if that were so. But I truly feel embarrassed by some of the behavior that I've witnessed by some here who call themselves Americans and Outdoorsmen. I try to judge people based upon their individuality,God knows I do. It really does make one wonder how we (both whites and blacks) truly feel about eachother. If some of the posts here in any indication of the masses, we have a long way to go and I worry that we may never get there.

I'm embarrassed by a few comments toward Obama. But, I am also embarrassed by what has happened to some of the HNI members here too for wearing McCain buttons. I'll be glad when the dust settles, if it does.

I agree....Hey, if you don't like or agree with the new president elect then state your case or your opinions, that's what this form is for. I don't like Obama, not as a person but his political and social views. I wish no harm to him and yes it's embarrassing to read some of the vile posted here.

RE: Have you ever been embarrassed???
Im embarrased for those who posted such things. As for me, im not embarrased for myself. I dont think Obama was the best choice, but he is now our president so Ill support him. I just pray my notion of his policies prove wrong. And if they do, ill be the first to eat crow and thank the country for voteing him in. But ill also be the first to thank those who voted him in, if my notions come true. Lets see where this ride takes us.

I'm shocked by some of the comments here, but most of those are coming from newcontributors to this place...who I figure will be going soon...in one way or another, thankfully.
I don't see anydifference in people's skin. I just realize there are a-holes everywhere.

I don't mind when people disagree with policy, but when you see post after post slinging racial insults and talking about white power and ending a president, thats way out of line. Last night there was a whole lot of these type of posts. I see they have removed some of them, but we have new ones showing up still.

I'll be straight with ya...I love black people..but presently I'm having a hard time fellowshiping with "Christians" who voted for Obama..Obama's agenda is not Christian..and I think many black voters ignored their convictions..One year they are standing in an anti abortion line and the next year they are voting for a black man who supports pro-choice..My friend that is hypocrisy..and I'm presently I'm having a hard time embracing my Obama voting "Christian brothers and sisters" just being straight with ya.
