Nostradomus (SP?) - The end of the world
Mayan Calendar - Stops
Space - Asteroid projected to be collision or near miss
Obama - End of first term

Coincidence? I think not. Start praying people.

The Mayans were a bunch of a-holes. I cheered at the sight of the Spanish in the movie apocalypto. They got what they deserved

I thought that the world was gonna end in 2000, before that they were saying it would end in the year 1000.

We are here for God's glory, not the other way around. Praying is a way of showing dependance on God our Father. God knows what we need, but he requires our heart, and soul. Praying is an avenue to this.

It doesn't. God's will be done.

I don't see where the original poster explained it would stop the end of the world. He just said start praying.

Here in his post did he say it would stop it???

The Bible clearly says no one shall know the day nor the hour, not even the angels in heaven shall know - so anyone who claims to be a Christian is contradicting the scriptures when they forecast an end date - lots of preachers and cults do this to sway power over their followers, conveniently ignoring the fact that the New Testament clearly reserves such knowledge only to God.

I don't care if it is today or 10,000 years down the road. I have my faith in Christ, and live my life as best a sinner can.

Wailing about the end of days is a complete waste of anyone's time no matter who does it.

But,,, it sells and lots of preachers, book companys, and movie studios make Mega-$$$ pandering to fear - which is all it amounts to in the end,, glorified fear-mongering.
