Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Got an email from Cooper fire arms.

I emailed Cooper arms to find out if the support of Obama was true and here is what they sent me;

Quote:
In response to the recent article highlighting Dan Cooper"™s personal political donations, the board of directors, shareholders and employees of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc would like to issue the following statement.

The employees, shareholders and board of directors of Cooper Firearms of Montana do not share the personal political views of Dan Cooper.

Although we all believe everyone has a right to vote and donate as they see fit, it has become apparent that the fallout may affect more than just Mr. Cooper. It may also affect the employees and the shareholders of Cooper Firearms.

The board of directors has asked Mr. Cooper to resign as President of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc.

Daily operations will continue with the competent staff currently in place in Stevensville, MT producing the finest, most accurate rifles money can buy.

Dan Cooper has spent all of his working life producing the highest quality rifles built here in the USA. He started with nothing but the American Dream and built that into firearms company anyone would be proud of. We firmly believe Dan stands by the 2nd amendment.
We wish him all of the best in his future pursuits.

So the board of directors fires the guy who started the bloody company just because of the way he intends to vote?? What BS!! I guess he could have just kept his mouth shut and no one would have ever known who he voted for, but I just hope none of you guys ever get fired just because of the way you voted. These so-called patriotic Americans who keep saying how much they stand behind freedom and crap like that are just as bad as any freakin communist that ever lived with nonesense like this!

No. They're firing him because his status with the company is threatening the financial viability of the company. If my political leanings threaten the livelihood of my employer, I'd expect the same treatment, and so should you. Fair? Not really. But it's reality. It's just like the Jim Zumbo situation from a couple of years ago. Zumbo's comments didn't cost him his career; the threat of fallout from customers and advertisers did.

I simply asked the company if his support was true. They responded with the email I posted. But in the companies defense; If the company has a person on staff that has brought on damage to the company, they have all the right in the worldto can him. Regardless of his status. As the email states, people are going to be hurt by his actions. Its called buisness.

This is bad for Cooper Firearms of Montana but all so good.
The bad part is he was a great gun maker that knew how to make some of the finest rifles made. But I had seen this happening.
The good part is, if this had not happen they would have lost the company there had been thousand"™s of orders stopped.
Steve863 How can Dan Cooper support a man like Obama that would ban gun"™s when he makes gun himself that looked bad on the company.
A true American that love their guns and the 2nd Amendment would never vote for Obama.

Yep. It's an economic decision, not a political one. Although, it is politics that has affected the economics. I wouldn't feel too bad about Mr. Cooper... He'll still own whatever share of the company he currently owns. This is, effectively, an early retirement. He'll continue to receive a share of company profits.

He is an assclown for supporting and then lying about his support for a candidate that has a proven record of restricting Americans rights to own the very product his company manufactures.

Hold on there, Steve. It was "these so-called patriotic Americans" that secured YOUR freedom in the first place by revolting against tyrannical leadership. Cooper arms viewed Mr. Cooper as a threat to not only the company, but the very freedoms by which we are a free nation, and that have kept us a free nation. I see nothing wrong with that.

Communist? No. Patriot.

He won't get fired like any normal working man, we fired our CEO and president but he walked out with 30 million dollars. Now, I'm sure he will start another business and be our competition.
He's not getting fired for the way he's voting. He's getting fired because of his vote if hurt his industry. That's the problem with the liberals, they can see past their noses..

OK, I could see what you're saying, but I honestly think it won't make a bit of difference to the companies finances. So a few hardheaded people boycott this company that makes very expensive rifles. I am sure there are others who have money to throw away and will continue to buy them no matter what the companies original owners personal beliefs are, Most people won't ever even know anything about them. It's not like their guns are being bought by the majority of hunters out there who can get the job done just as well with a Remington, Ruger, Savage, etc. for a fraction of what their gun sells for. I will say again, if he had kept quiet about it he could have voted for anyone he wanted to and he would not have gotten fired. It's best to not let ones opinions be known in most areas of life and this is just a prime example.
