GunsAmerica just sent this out and it provides some interesting information regarding Obama and the 2nd amendment. Yes, they did get it from an NRA website but it provides a lot of documentation for each point listed. This is the kind of information gunowners need to carefully read through to make informed conclusions about Obama's real stance on the 2nd amendment--i.e. what he has done, not what he says (lies) that he's going to do. And, FWIW, this is the same method we should use to evaluate each politician who has a track record on their 2nd amendment support.

Get smart people when Obama said he will not take your gun"™s no he will not, he will get other people to do it for him. But at first he will put on a TAX on you ammo and guns so high that the average person will not be able to afford to ever use a gun for hunting or target shooting. And as for the ammo ban all I will say is I will all most bet the 308 win (7.62x51mm) NATO and 223 rem (5.56 mm) NATO Will be the first to go.
I know this came from the NRA, but I do think it is something the Gun owners should no.

Illinois State Rifle Association Executive Director Richard Pearson Issues Open Letter to Nation's Sportsmen Regarding Obama's TRUE History in the Illinois Senate
We've repeatedly warned readers not to believe Barack Obama when he claims to support our Second Amendment rights. We have told you the truth--that Barack Obama is the most anti-gun presidential candidate in American history! Hands down. No question. Barack Obama opposes the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding, freedom-loving, American firearm owners.
We've given the facts, and provided the documentation. But if you know someone who's still not convinced, you'll want to share with them a recent, open letter to our nation's gun owners, hunters, and sportsmen, written by Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) Executive Director Richard Pearson. Pearson's credentials include deep involvement in the firearm rights movement for more than 40 years. He's been the chief lobbyist for the ISRA for the past 15 years. And, most importantly, because of his personal experience, he knows Barack Obama's true stance on the Second Amendment.
In his letter, Mr. Pearson says, "I lobbied Barack Obama extensively while he was an Illinois State Senator. As a result of that experience, I know Obama's attitudes toward guns and gun owners better than anyone. The truth be told, in all my years in the Capitol I have never met a legislator who harbors more contempt for the law-abiding firearm owner than does Barack Obama."
Mr. Pearson goes on to describe just some of Obama's anti-gun voting record, saying, "While a state senator, Obama voted for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle, shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens. That same bill would authorize the state police to raid homes of gun owners to forcibly confiscate banned guns." Obama also voted FOUR TIMES against legislation that would protect a homeowner who use a firearm in defense of home and family!
It doesn't get much plainer than that, folks. This letter is a must-read for every pro-freedom, pro-self-defense, pro-Second Amendment American.

True! Sad thing is many of the first to cry foul when gun rights are lost will be some of the very ones who voted for him and the ones who decide to stay home on election day.

The individual right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the Constitution. While Barack Obama pretends to respect the Second Amendment, his record demonstrates that his claim is no more credible than a wifebeater's claim that he respects his wife.
Economist and gun control researcher Dr. John Lott recalled his first encounter with Obama. After introducing himself to Obama, "Obama said 'Oh, you are the gun guy.' I responded 'Yes, I guess so.' He simply responded that 'I don't believe that people should be able to own guns.'
'When I said it might be fun to talk about the question sometime and about his support of the city of Chicago's lawsuit against the gun makers, he simply grimaced and turned away, ending the conversation.'" [1].
Rich Pearson, who, "[f]or the past 15 years, . . . served in the Illinois state capitol as the chief lobbyist for the Illinois State Rifle Association" wrote:

"Although Obama claims to be an advocate for the 2nd Amendment, his voting record in the Illinois Senate paints a very different picture. While a state senator, Obama voted for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle, shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens. That same bill would authorize the state police to raid homes of gun owners to forcibly confiscate banned guns. Obama supported a bill that would shut down law-abiding firearm manufacturers including Springfield Armory, Armalite, Rock River Arms and Les Baer. Obama also voted for a bill that would prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing more than one gun per month." [2]
Obama supports numerous oppressive gun control measures. In April, an article in the nonpartisan website The Politico noted that "[Obama], as an Illinois state legislator and a U.S. senator, he consistently backed gun control legislation. . . . Obama has long backed gun-control measures, including a ban on semiautomatic weapons and concealed weapons, and a limit on handgun purchases to one a month." [3]
Obama also voted for legislation which would have banned the sale of almost all centerfire rifle ammunition, because such ammunition is designed to propel a bullet at a velocity which happens to be sufficient not only to kill game, but also to penetrate the lowest level of police body armor. [4].
The Obama strategy is similar to that of the repetitive wife abuser who seeks to recouncile with his wife after beating her. Flowers, candy and loving words are poured out by the abuser on his victim. The message is: "Pay attention only to what I say and ignore what I have done." Unfortunately, another beating will be administered in the future. As The Politico article notes, the Obama campaign's position statement on gun control parrots respect for the Second Amendment (while claiming "the right is subject to [supposedly] reasonable and common sense regulation"), but is silent on Obama's voting record. Should gunowners trust Obama? Only if they want to receive a beating.
