Seems that the government can't keep from "bailing out" every little business that fails these days. Now there's talk of bailing out some ethonal plants because the volitle corn prices have bitten some in the butt. As if subsidies for them weren't enough, now we're going to bail them out too![:@] http://www.agmarkllc.com/index.aspx?ascxid=fpQfStory&fpsid=36445&fp stid=1

Yep, now that gas prices have tanked the ethanol producers and the agri-busineses are whining for their bailout.
Ethanol............oh Ethanol.........'twas just one-fifth a score of years ago......Oh! Ethanol!!!!!How could it be!!!!!! Thou wadst the miracle of saving the great polar mammilians!.........oh, Ethanol........................................... ......................WHAT THE CRAP HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah, what nonsense to strive to be free of oil imports in a manner that creates a thriving local agricultural economy[:'(]
The problem was in deciding to use corn. There are more efficient and more productive crops from which ethanol can be derived, that wouldn't affect the food supply.
Actually, we couldgreatly decreaseoil imports if we could fully utilize nuclear energy as well as our massive coal supply, but both are mandated against, so to seem extent oil is getting an artificial boost as well.
Increased grain prices seem to work pretty well for local farm-based economies. To repeat for the 10th time, it is pretty ironic that for decades people have been complaining about the low grain prices that farmers get, but then when the prices raise, then suddenly it is a bad thing.

Also , what is going to become of all these ethanol plants once they go broke. There are 4 of them within a 25 mile radius of me. Ethanol is definitely not the answer.
