Default Can We print enough Money?

So I'm starting to think we CANT print money fast enough, and I hope I'm wrong.

We aregoing thoughHYPER-deflation, commodities down 75% in the last few months, houses down, etc etc...

The fed is trying to stablize things by printing money, but I dont think they can legitimately print money fast enough, granted if the rest of the world's gov'ts print money fast enough they could stabilize things, but either way I guess the best investment will be cash?? Unless they print tooo much money and we over correct to hyperinflation. Its going to be tough to time.

what do some of you financial guys think? gold is tanking now just like silver did, we could see gold at 500/oz in a few weeks....

It's rather simple actually. The feds can and will print enough to "get us by", or to "stabilize" things. However, the eventual outcome of doing so can only have detrimental consequences on our economy. Printing more fake money not backed by anything can only cause hyperinflation to rise beyond the point it's already at.

Yes we could and we could see it at $1000/oz just as fast. Just watch and see. We'll see what the financial guys (guy) says. My guess is that there will be no prediction. Can't predict the future.

I'm afraid if we have deflation, the money printed will just disapear as writeoffs....

Printing money should offset deflationary forces, then overpower them and drive up prices and interest rates. Way too much spending with no end in sight!

Don't count on it, OPEC is already set to cut back production.[:@]

Of course they will blame Bush. Thats why it might be a good thing if Obama gets in, they have no one to blame but themselves then.

i presently hold a pretty good quantity of gold. Have made a lot of money on gold inpast. Keep in mind that you are "allowed" to hold gold at the "pleasure" of the US government. All it takes is a presidential order or an act of congress to take away the"priviledge" of owning gold.

In April of 1944 president Roosevelt decreedthe ownership of gold bullion to be illegal. All gold bullionoutside of coin collectionsin the USwas supposedto be turned in.Most gold was not turned in.

Quote:
FDR devalued the dollar by 69.3%. Before this devaluation, it took 20.67 dollars to exchange for one ounce of gold. After the devaluation, it took 35 dollars in exchange for that same ounce. The table shows that the total US gold stock rose from 193.3 million ounces before the confiscation to 195.1 million ounces after. At $35 per ounce, the gold stock's dollar value in January 1934 was revalued to $6,829 million.
