Default Democrats the party of charity???

Yea right. Biden wants to redistribute your wealth and says it our duty, but he does not give to charity.

This is from his tax returns.

Gross Income Charity
1998 $215,432 $195
1999 $210,797 $120
2000 $219,953 $360
2001 $220,712 $360
2002 $227,811 $260
2003 $231,375 $260
2004 $234,271 $380
2005 $321,379 $380
2006 $248,459 $380
2007 $319,853 $995
Total $2,450,042 $3,690

Such a soical minded fellow there. Also, I love how Kerry griped about Bushes tax cuts for the rich, while Kerry, himself filed under Bushes tax break. You do not have to take Bush's tax cuts, you can check that little box that states you want to be taxed at the old rate. And guess which party has more people checking that little box????? Its the Republicans.

Dem's (on the upper-end of the political spectrum) fall behind in giving, and try to make up for it by taking.

I heard in 2001 that the average American family gives $5 in charity every year.

I remember a Presidential program called "America's Kids" or somethingin 2001 that was fundraising, for Afghan kids displaced from the war and Taliban regime. Thing was, it was a program, where kids give, American kids give to the organization for the sake of Afghan kids. It went on for a few days, it was a nationwide mail-in drive.

I gave $2.00 to it,figured that alot of money across the country would be raised, with all the kids across America, you know, but we saw on Headline News, that the whole program, when it was over, nationwide, had raised the grand total of $997.84.

Pathetic. I could see my $2.00 in there, I could subtract, and see what it would look like without me. Terrible, people are so greedy. Pathetic, sheerly pathetic.

Look into Arthur C. Brook's research...
Quote:
People who are religious give more across the board to all causes than their non-religious counterparts
There is a huge "charity gap" that follows religion: On average, religious people are far more generous than secularists with their time and money. This is not just because of giving to churches"religious people are more generous than secularists towards explicitly non-religious charities as well. They are also more generous in informal ways, such as giving money to family members, and behaving honestly.

Giving supports economic growth and actually creates prosperity

Many studies show that giving and volunteering improve physical health and happiness, and lead to better citizenship. In other words, we need to give for our own good. Cultural and political influences"and the many government policies"that discourage private charitable behavior have negative effects that are far more widespread than people usually realize.

The working poor in America give more to charity than the middle class

The American working poor are, relative to their income, some of the most generous people in America today. The nonworking poor, however"those on public assistance instead of earning low wages"give at lower levels than any other group. In other words, poverty does not discourage charity in America, but welfare does.

Upper level income people often give less than the working poor

Among Americans with above-average incomes who do not give charitably, a majority say that they "don"t have enough money." Meanwhile, the working poor in America give a larger percentage of their incomes to charity than any other income group, including the middle class and rich.

Plus
:
People who give money charitably are 43 percent more likely to say they are "very happy" than nongivers and 25 percent more likely than nongivers to say their health is excellent or very good. A religious person is 57% more likely than a secularist to help a homeless person. Conservative households in America donate 30% more money to charity each year than liberal households. If liberals gave blood like conservatives do, the blood supply in the U.S. would jump by about 45%.

There was an extensive study done on the comparison between conservative charity vs. liberal. By and far, conservatives gave not only more money to charity, but also more time volunteering. I wish I had the reference handy.

Liberals are very giving--they just use someone else's money.

Did you want my numbers? I can tell you this is very true. I have to ad however, my Neighbor does something I don't think I would do but he does fly south to South America on missions. A little more than I'm willing to do right now and he is a liberal.
