Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Time to embrace the democrats

Super-majority or close, BHO as president, the liberals are taking over America. Finally, we can view first hand how screwed up things are going to get. I'm all for this take over, blessed by the clueless American tax payer. Frankly, I'm sick of this election crap, lies, distortions, and down right stupidity. Democrats screw up everything they touch, and once they have the white house and congress, they have nobody left to blame. Sometimes you have to take one step back to move foward, and this is it. Who did more for the republican party than William J. Clinton? Either the dems screw it up so bad that they nation turns their back on them in 2010, or there is the complete breakdown of American society, either way rise the Pheonix.[8D][8D]

All anyone can do is hide and watch. If Obama does good, this might be the election that slaps the GOP down for a long, long time, like Herbert Hoover did once before.

"Our economy is fundamentally sound." Herbert Hoover 1929.

"The fundamentals of our economy are strong." Bush, 2007 AND McCain, 2008 and often in-between for both.

Come to think of it, after nearly 80 years we've already seen the GOP phoenix haven't we. [8D]

I drove 350 miles across Arkansas this weekend. I saw maybe 150-200 McCain-Palin signs

I saw ZERO Obama/Biden signs, in fact I cannot tell you what they even look like I've not seen one.

No, its not indicative of the results of the election, but I DID see Gore/Liberman and Kerry/Edwards signs in years past. What it means is what it is - Obama doesn't have a following in the parts of this state I drove through.

I think Obama will win, CNN wants him too, but McCain .... dont count it all as over just yet fellows

Guys, Think about this, What are the chances that nobody in Government no matter which party you pick so this GLOBAL crisis coming. Look at how many people both Dems and REPs are involved in commerce, trade and finance. Did nobody know this was coming or have all of them been lying about the extent of this mess? We are talking about the world here. Not just the US. Did Bush break the iceland economy. Did Frank crash the ***anese stock market. Does anyone think that the blame for this mess ,which is ten times worse that we think it is is the fault of any one party, any one government? The world is broke. We can either print ten thousand more train loads of worthless money and keep playing the game or............???

I read that there is ten times more world curency printed than there is real wealth to back it up. Our housing crisis is not even a drop in the ocean of world debt. And nobody in charge knew? If so then should any of them still be in charge?

The problem is most of the pols on both sides of the aisle don't understand economics, the problems they've created or how to fix them. Like most Americans, the pols think our economy will keep chugging along and this "financial crisis" is only a media ploy to help the dems elect Obama, etc. The reality is our economy will keep chugging along to a certain extent in that we won't have a depression like the great depression. What's depressing is that our country will likely never get back out of debts, live within our means or cease trying to provide handouts in the form of increased social healthcare, etc. because most pols (and Americans) simply don't care. Most people think wealth redistribution is a good idea as long as it's somebody else's wealth being redistributed to them.[:@]

With a Democrat-controlled Congress, Obama could become the next Carter, really, if anything major happens that people won't like, he's not going to be able to blame it on Bush anymore, or the Republicans in Congress. Anything bad that happens in the next 2 years if Barack gets elected = blame the Democrats.

Republicans probably won't take back the majority in 2010, but we'll see when a turnaround occurs. 2012, if Obama wins in 2008, I believe that Sarah Palin will probably run for the top-spot, since she'll have had more experience from being atwo-term governor, and the American people will know her well. She could either kick Obama out of office or chop off the head of the Democrat successor in 2016.

I'd sooner embrace Satan, not much different and at least I'd feel better about my choice. [:'(]

Keep in mind that Bush has been blamed for everything but the Lindberg baby kidnapping by folks using the "his watch, his fault" logic. Based on that logic, we can start blaming everything on Obama the minute the inaguration is over.[8D]

Obama is going to be the next president, unless some major shakeup happens in the next week or two. McCain had his chance in the debates and didn't take him down. This will also be a victory large enough so that the "challenge it" moves from the last two won't be mentioned.

Right now both sides have the other to blame. That goes away for a least 2 years. I also think if Obama wins, he's in for 8 years. The economy is a big issue to many even though I believe its a cycle. that said, whoever is in next, is catching the bottom of the curve for the economy. Or close enough so that 4 years from now we will be on the upswing. They will take credit and get re-elected. McCain said he's a 1 term' president, so IF he wins, which I doubt, but hope for, we will have Palin running in 4 years.

My fear is not taxes, its not the economy, my fear falls into two areas:
- government run health care is a disaster waiting to happen
- Supreme court justices to be replaced.

McCain is climbing back in polls... Obama up only 4.5, well within poll tolerances.

Its not over till its over.
