Default Why the GOP Can't Recruit Black Folks in CA

"The latest newsletter by an Inland Republican women's group depicts Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama surrounded by a watermelon, ribs and a bucket of fried chicken, prompting outrage in political circles.

The October newsletter by the Chaffey Community Republican Women, Federated says if Obama is elected his image will appear on food stamps -- instead of dollar bills like other presidents. The statement is followed by an illustration of "Obama Bucks" -- a phony $10 bill featuring Obama's face on a donkey's body, labeled "United States Food Stamps."

The GOP newsletter, which was sent to about 200 members and associates of the group by e-mail and regular mail last week, is drawing harsh criticism from members of the political group, elected leaders, party officials and others as racist.

Give me a break Beau. Don't tell me you can't take a joke. The sad thing is only Republicans are racists. If your associated with the "D" party, your never racist.

Beau,
didn't you hear? racism is dead in this country. if anything, now there's only reverse racism, perpetrated by african americans against caucasians. i know, i read it numerous times in this very same forum. now, please stop trying to burst our little cocoon of blissful, self-deluded ignorance with facts and evidence to the contrary. it will just muddy the waters and make many uncomfortable and force us tore-evaluate our world view.

Some were around here, I have a picture of the first black president on a $3 bill.

The republicans are in a no win situation. I don't know what offends black people more. This, or telling black people that they are American's just like everybody else, and we are going to get government out of your life so you can take responsibility for your own situation and do more for yourselves than the government will ever be able to do for you. To me there is no better thing to tell anybody, whether they be black or white.

My experience is that the latter causes the bigger stir.

Nope...I'd say its our (current posters in this forum) loss.
