Default the Brady Campaign and NRA are in total agreement

Barack Obama received a presidential endorsement from theBrady Campaign.As the most anti-gun presidential nominee in history and he certainly deserves the endorsement of one of the most outspoken anti-gun organizations in the country.

The time is past where I can afford to be a single issue voter and I AM voting Obama. But I'll be making heavy use of the phone and e-mail to keep my views against gun control front and center.Get your Senators' and Representatives' phone numbers and e-mail addys and keep them handy at all times. Quit griping about the election because, no matter which one wins, we won't have a friend in the White House.

If you've got time to post on a forum, you've got time to contact your elected officials. Get those phone numbers and e-mails AND USE THEM.

Your still a single issue voter. Nothing has changed. You want free money for doing nothing to earn it.

Arthur, though I am not exactly a single-issue voter, the 2nd Amendment is the most important issue to me now. Simply because it is one of the Bill of Rights, and the one getting the most infringement. If it falls, the others will follow quickly behind. Already you hear talk of putting limits on free speech, and no one seems to notice. This isn't the America it used to be, and I don't want to see it get so bad that it isn't even worth staying. Right now, it doesn't look good.

Yep'm Obama is anti-gun alright. However, i do not believe that he has proposed any anti-gun laws himself. McCainproposed an anti-gun law along with Lieberman: The so-called McCain-Lieberman "gun show loophole" bill. If McCain were a Democrat he would br branded an "anti-gun leader" by the NRA and rated an F-.I've been an NRA member for over 50 years and am really bent out of shape that a pro-gun organization backed McCain.Have had shouting matches over the phone with several NRAbig wigsover this one.

There is a lot more pukey stuff in the McCain-Liebermanbill thatis not quoted below. That is why i'm voting for Palin.

http://www.gunlaws.com/evenworse.htm

Quote:
1. Unprecedented federal control over gun shows nationwide -- perfectly legal gun shows become strictly outlawed without prior federal approval, licensing and registration of each show;

2. Centralized federal licensing and registration of every gun-show promoter in the nation;

3. Centralized federal registration of every vendor -- including non-gun vendors -- at any gun show in the country. In order for me to sell my BOOKS at a gun show I'll have to pre-register and prove who I am, or face arrest; a private individual looking to sell a single gun would be treated as a vendor under this law and must be registered even if the gun isn't sold;

4. Centralized federal registration of EVERY PERSON who attends a gun show in America, whether or not they make purchases of anything at all -- you won't be allowed in without registering;
5. Centralized collection of "any other information" on gun-show attendees, as determined solely by the Secretary of the Treasury;

6. Imprisonment for attending a gun show and failing to give up any information required by regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury;

7. Imprisonment of any gun-show promoter who fails to register a single vendor;

8. Imprisonment of gun-show promoters who cannot prove they notified every person attending a gun show of the new rules, and obtained from attendees any information the Secretary of the Treasury mandates by regulation;

9. Centralized collection of "any other information" the Secretary of the Treasury decides, by regulation, is necessary on vendors, attendees, and the gun show itself;

10. Submission by gun-show promoters of vendor registration logs a) 30 days before any gun show, and b) additional submission of updated vendor registration logs 72 hours before any gun show, and c) additional submission of vendor registration logs within five days of the close of any gun show, under penalty of arrest and imprisonment for non-compliance;

Transfer or possession of a firearm to or by a criminal (a "federally prohibited possessor") is completely unaffected by the McCain-Lieberman "loophole" bill, so I guess it's accurate to characterize it as a loophole bill.

I do not see why the 2nd amendmentis not one of the most important issue.
I here people all the time say they are going to vote for Obama because of there Kids and Wife.
But is it not important that your kids have the right to have guns or go hunting just like you did as a kid?
I do have Kids 2boys that is why the2nd Amendment is the most important issue it me and my wife.
