Joe the Plumber didn't open his mouth on national TV. Joe the Plumber was in a crowd talking to a presidential candidate and there happened to be TV cameras recording his words. His biggest mistake was that he dared to say something that could be used to be critical of Barack Obama. For that, leftists and the media are more than happy to take him to the mat.
I don't think it's anymore ironic than Obama bashing Sarah Palin for not tellling people to stop when they were yelling "Kill him" about Obama during a rally, and then the Secret Service steps forward to say that Palin couldn't have possibly have told someone to shut up, because no one ever said that. And, by the way, Palin wasn't even on stage when it was alleged to have been said.
