Transplants in the same category as Cosmetic Surgery????
Let me start this discussion with a qualifier:
I've really been growing warmer to John McCains campaign in the last 2 weeks, I like seeing the maverick side of him where wont follow the party line when he fundamentally dissagrees, and I liked seeing him correct some of the false statement some of his more rabid supporters have made.
I even liked how he debated last night, Personally, I think he came out on top, he was just more precise in all his answers, and he diddent balk at tough questions like Obama did.
I was really rooting for the guy until he said this:
[blockquote]Now, 95 percent of the people in America will receive more money under my plan...except for those people who have the gold-plated Cadillac insurance policies that have to do with cosmetic surgery and transplants and all of those kinds of things.[/blockquote]
That litteraly jared me from being half asleep. I couldent believe he said it, in fact I had to rewind the DVR to see if I really heard it right, but sure enough he said it...
In whatuniverse is a life saving organ transplant even remotly in the same category as a face lift, and why the hell should I have to pay more than I currently would, under John McCains plan, to have that coverage? As someone who is only around to vote in this election beause of a life saving transplant, I've got to say this REALLY sticks in my craw.
