Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Not a chance. It took both political partys to bring this one off.

Falcon said exactly what I was going to say: "Not a chance." There's simply no way, in our economy, that either party -- especially a party not in the White House -- could have orchestrated this on a whim. Democratic policies over a long period of time helped bring it about, but there were plenty of Republican policies that helped as well. Our economic setup in this country is way too dynamic for one party to orchestrate a meltdown.

Once we get plenty of regulations heaped on and move away from capitalism, that may not be the case.

This meltdown is a big enough crap sandwich for eveyone to take a bite. Both parties are guilty.

Someone was predicting that oil prices and hence gasoline would go down towards the election, manipulated by the party in power to benefit their candidates. Smacks a little too much of consipiracy theory for my stomach. Following that logic, wouldn't the party in power manipulate the economy to benefit their candidates? Doesn't look that way.

October is known to be a witching month of stock investment. Most of the big stock declines have occured in October -- 2008, 1987, 1929. Why? I don't know. Maybe it is related to seasonal depression? The sun is dieing, leaves are falling off the trees, death, death, death!!! Sell! Sell! Sell! Don't laugh. If you think the stock market is dominated by rational deliberation you have another think coming!
