Hunting.Net Congress Vote in session, Please participate
We always talk about politics, why not actually create a real political atmosphere? We're going to have a vote, simply post a "Yea" or a "Nay" or raise some concern, whatever, of course, you can always vote "Present," since we're trying toresemble like Congress. Please feel free to give an suggestions on how this should be done (i.e. should we adopt the Constitution, or just vote, whatever, really.)
Alright, I want to hold a referendum, saying whether or not, by popular vote, we shouldask a moderator, to delete the following threads, HNICongress will be in session until Saturday, October 18th, at 9AM ET:
HNIR 00001
Whereas, the members of this siteagree to take action, in requesting the termination of the threads that are described by the following information, by a member who is vested with the ability to terminate the threads described below.
Conservatives:Liberals:
Aye: 1 Aye:
Nay:1Nay:
Present: Present:
Results will be updated as votes come in.
Author:
kathaksung
Number of threads to be deleted:
Two
Titles:
1. Giuliani got booed in Yankee game
2. Surveillance without warrant
Reasons:
Their lack of contribution to this forum, with their serving no purpose other than to annoy members of this site, and their arguable disrespect to the majority of the members of this site.
RE: Hunting.Net Congress Vote in session, Please participate
That is why we have a bill, so that the members can determine if they want to get rid of those threads, if it gets too quiet, then people don't have to vote in favor of it.
But we're not talking about liberals/consevative viewpoints, we're talking kathaksung, if you've fogotten what that's all about, just take a visit to the two threads we're talking about deleting, they're on the front page again, BTW.
We can vote on just about anything, I'm hoping to make voting on bills a repeatable practice on this forum, it seems to be a decent idea, for the further improvement of the site.

Conservative - Nay
"Their lack of contribution to this forum," - They seem rather popular. Both threads have scores of responses.
"with their serving no purpose other than to annoy members of this site," - Nobody is forced to click on the threads. If it annoys you, look away. Personally, I clicked, saw what it was about, and didn't bother reading on. I wasn't annoyed.
"and their arguable disrespect to the majority of the members of this site." - I'm not certain how they are disrespectful. Is there childish name calling, or anything similar? Shouldn't a moderator take care of that sort of problem? Or do they simply reflect a minority viewpoint?
RE: Hunting.Net Congress Vote in session, Please participate
We're not voting ontrying to get rid of kathaksung, just the threads. The question is strictly, do you want to keep those threads? Or lose them? It's got no further consequence than that, besides, it'll be up to the moderator whether he pulls the trigger on them or not, but something tells me he or she would comply with the vote.
However, I believe one moderator should be placed in charge. I would suggest CalHunter, LBR could do it, instead, but we could leave it up to them.
RE: Hunting.Net Congress Vote in session, Please participate
Uhhh, so we are voting about getting rid of very popular long running threads. Well, as a point of parlimentary procedure, i assume command of the floor and propose that we get rid of this thread. I also propose that we bring back Metro!!!!

Um, first of all, you cannot assume running the floor, since you're not an elected official, this isn't a representative democracy, it's a direct democracy, and you vote strictly with the bill's guidelines, then, we count the votes. That simple.
If you want to bring Metro back, then start your own bill, we're not in favor of earmarks here.

Did they break forum rules? If so, nix em, if not, leave and ignore em.
Hence, the bill, it's an act of Congressional action, not of whether or not these threads broke HNI rules, because they didn't. It's simply asking if in spite of their legality, if a resolution should be enacted that would result in the termination of these two threads.
Also, I would suggest that people are confusing the term "popular" with the word "famous", I do not believe the two threads are popular, since the majority of people on this site don't like them, but they are well-known. And due to their significance, we're having avote on the matter.
