Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Interesting article

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/...ect/index.html

I have had a hard time accepting the poll numbers of late and here is a good article on what I think might be happening. I really don't think that Obama is as far ahead as they want us to believe. I wonder how much of an effect this "Bradley effect" will have on this election. If Obama is polling with a 10 % lead I doubt it will make enough of a difference, but if the lead is 5 % or less, I think the Obama supporters might be in for a surprise. We shall see.

I think you may be on to something Steve. They have been calling WV a toss-up state now and theres no way in hell its that close. They came out of nowhere and gave Obama the lead by 6 in a poll from one outfit..nevermind the others had been showing Mccain consistently up 8-10. I believe its closer than they are showing as well.

Obama's group, ACORN, is working hard to make sure that doesn't happen.[:'(]

About the polling, this year, all the major polling groups redefined "likely voters," and the outcomes of the polls are potentially more accurate, or less accurate, depending on how this new definition pans out -- the difference between theory and practice.

Polls are skewed. I can only hope they continue. There are not THAT many young'uns voting, so if it's painted as a "landslide' for Osama, lots of dems will stay home and NOT vote, thinking it's a done deal.
NICE !

Saw a story yesterday about FL--there's at least 30,000 convicted felons registered to vote there. The problem is in FL, if you are convicted of a felony, you loose your right to vote (or at least you are supposed to). For whatever reasons, felons lean heavily Dem. at the polls. Not to mention all the states where ACORN (who BHO has absolutely NO ASSOCIATION with--except he was a lawyer for them at one time, and his campaign has donated huge amounts of cash to them, and......) is under Federal investigation for fraud.

Who is stealing (or at least trying) the election?

Chad

I think in general polls are pretty accurate, but I think they may be a bit skewed in this election at least. Some argue that this "Bradley effect" is a thing of the past, but we shouldn't forget that Obama was expected to win the New Hampshire primary but Hillary ended up winning it. We will know on election day I guess, but I know there are a lot of democrats who would have probably voted for any other democrat that will NOT be voting for Obama in this election. Whether these people are being included in polls is hard to know for certain.

I don't know who will win, but I DO know who I'm voting for. And believe me, I'll be out and voting, for sure -- rain or shine, sleet or snow, hurricanes or tornadoes. Will the newly registered voters the Democrats are counting on and the youth vote get out to vote, if it represents any kind of inconvenience for them?

Remember that presidents are elected by the electoral college and not the popular vote. I think in several states there is a "winner take all" disposition of electoral votes. I guess we don't usually have a dramatic skew between popular votes and the electoral college vote, but it could happen. Thus, it is key to win states.
