Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

BUT wait, there are plenty that hang out here that not too long ago argued that "supply and demand" have nothing to do with gas prices!! SO what does OPEC cutting production have to do with anything? The price is set by those bad BAD people on wall street, isn't it??? That's what we're been hearing for the last several months, from several here and in congress!!

Easy solution. They say we need good jobs in America and reduce our foreign oil dependence. Hey, how about allowing drilling here on our own soil?

great idea. can we open up those areas for drilling, while simultaneously insuring that the fruits of that drilling are used only in a domestic market?

First off, that doesn't matter. We're talking about a global market. The fruits absolutely would remain here. Just the mere fact of increase in jobs and royalties off the oil flowing into our governments would be a big help. As far as oil going here or there, the EPA right now won't allow the oil from ANWR to be used in America due to high sulpher content. So it make more sense to sell it to ***an and diplace the oil they are buying now.

From the article:

""The price increase in the last 14 months is a total aberration," Mr. Groppe said. "And before that all began, oil price were at US$65 to US$70 level, and they are just returning to where they were before they made the mistake of cutting supplies."

I thought it was purely increased demand?
